Driving on the interstate and rpm's shot up to 5 and i had no power and when i stop and then try to take off the car jerks and theres no power, car also shuts off unexpectedly which is a major safety concern because car is on interstate daily. Check engine light also came on.

It seems to happen the most when there is any kind of extra weight in the car, when accelerating from a stop, and when going uphill.
