As i pulled out into the flow of traffic from a gas station, i realized my car would not accelerate beyond 15-20 mph. I immediately pulled over to the right hand lane and proceeded to the stop light, which was about a 100 yards down the road. At the red light i placed the car into neutral and discovered the engine would not go beyond 3500-4000 rpm's. I then turned on the warning flashers, and when the light turned…

I was driving about 40 mph. Suddenly an error message popped up "service advancetrac". Then the car was disabled. The speed automatically reduced. The speed did not respond or increase at all when i stepped on the accelerator pedal. Luckily, i was able to pull over to safety. Then the car stopped completely. I turned off the car, then turned it on again. The error message "service advancetrac" popped up again. This…

The car sputters and rattles when letting the foot off the brake when it is at a stand still. It feels as if it is trying to start in 2nd gear. The problem is getting increasingly worse. I have had an issue where the car wouldn't go past 15 mph. I turned it off and started it again and the speed problem seemed to be fixed. It still sputters. I have also noticed the transmission shifts rough.

Vehicle has leaked engine oil since new, which was first discovered at 500mi. Engine oil contaminated clutch discs in automatic tranmission, which resulted in replacement of rear main engine seal, transmission clutches, etc. Which was supposed to resolve problem. Attempted repair took place at approx. 7500 mi. At 7800 mi, engine oil is still leaking oil, covering the bottom on the engine and pooling on the…

This vehicle has been deemed a "lemon" pursuant to colorado bbb auto complaint. The clutch has been replaced twice but the vehicle continues to shudder, lag, or intermittently lurch forward. It is a hazard to drive. *tr

Noted jerky movement of car during turns and immediately upon acceleration. Was minor at first, but appeared to increase in duration and intensity with additional mileage. Quality of shifting between gears very poor - surging and lurching noticed. Slight oil leak detected towards front end of engine at first oil change. Under engine cover also coated with engine oil residue. Took vehicle into ford dealer for above…

    Engine · Fuel/Propulsion System · Power Train

The car will nearly stall (as if transmission slipped/disengaged), engine sputters, transmission grinds and jerks then gears catch and car lurches forwards and speeds off as if it is possessed. This is very dangerous when attempting to enter moving traffic and especially dangerous when crossing multiple lanes of traffic or if the driver is less experienced or isn't aware that he/she needs to accommodate it. The more…

    Clutch Assembly · Engine

Vehicle grinds gears frequently. From 1st to 2nd gear vehicle will shake, loose power and almost stall before engine regains power and shifts to go forward. Taken to ford 4 times. They say it is normal and just needs to be broken in. At one visit, they gave me a 2 page handout on how dual clutch engine works, as if that justifies the performance. They finally replaced clutch which helped for a couple of days before…

I own a 2013 ford focus hatchback titanium model. Purchased the car in january 2013. Currently has 1100 miles on it. Car has a six-speed automatic transmission that ford has dubbed "powershift". Transmission is very jittery at all speeds when shifting gears while accelerating. It is also hesitant to shift gears and pick up speed. It seems like something is going to break inside the engine and the car jerks when…

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. The contact stated that the engine warning indicator flashed and remained illuminated as the failure progressed. The vehicle jerked and decelerated to a low rate of speed each time the indicator flashed. The dealer (landers ford, 2082 w poplar ave, collierville, tn 38017, [redacted]) provided a software update to the computer; however, the failure recurred. The contact planned…

My performance concern started within the first week of ownership. I had reported what i perceived as a performance issue to the dealer but opted to give a new car time to "break in". 4 weeks into my owner experience, the service department held and drove the car for 5 days and had determined that a transmission component was the cause of the issue i was experiencing. I now have over 10k miles on the vehicle and…

Like most of the complaints on this vehicle my focus hesitates and stutters. There was also a fluttering noise in the front end while the car was off that happened right away after purchasing. I took back to the dealership a week later and was told that the noise was normal and that the stuttering was due to the smaller engine. Finally took the car back in because it was getting worse, and this time the throttle…

Tried to tell dealership about stuttering of car when it is shifting, response was not enough miles on it, nothing was checked out. Also called dealership again about the stuttering, had the feeling they thought i was crazy. Oil change at 5000 miles, was asked about how i liked the new standard automatic transmission, was not impressed, was taken out on the road, had a loud screech in the front of the car on the…

When vehicle is stopped and at idle such as at a red light, the engine shakes and when the accelerator pedal is depressed the car hesitates and does not want to move and feels like the vehicle will stall. Once speed is up to about 10-15mph acceleration is fine with no vibration or shakes. This issue can be very serious when trying to pull out into traffic. Took to the dealership and was told nothing was wrong.…

    1. The sputtering, hesitation when pressing down on the accelerator 2. After stopping the car, the extra "jolt" seems as if it could be a safety concern/issue 3.year later all this got worse and i had the car towed in to the dealership 2 times for a total of 38 days of "fixing" the problems of the transmission. 4.i've had my car back now for 3 days, the hesitation is still there, no sputtering noticed as of now. *tr
