While commuting to work on the highway and coming to a stop due to traffic the vehicle was hit from behind at appx 50mph. My wife saw the imminent impact a split second before it happened & tried to apply the brakes as hard as possible so as not to hit the car in front of her (appx 20-25 feet away).
